NVIDIA has announced the latest version of Canvas, its AI-powered painting tool. Version 1.1 includes an AI model with higher definition, higher quality, and fewer artifacts; the ability to output 4x higher resolution; plus 5 new materials: straw, mud, bush, dirt, and flowers. Oday Abuzaeed has released a nice Substance that can procedurally add animatable seamless water drips with several parameters for the number of drips, their scale, normal intensity, the number and the speed of the falling drops, the deformation of shapes, and more. See it in action on Artstation.
Renderers
Version 2.6 of LuxCoreRenderer has been released. The new version adds support for OpenColourIO 2 and improves the performance of rendering mesh lights by up to 3 times. Other improvements include updates to Embree and OIDN, the UVRandomMapping2D and LocalRandomMapping3D gain the ability to use step values, plus many more improvements.
