Facebook owned Oculus has announced a new standalone VR headset due for release in 2018. Named Oculus Go, the headset does not require connection a phone or computer to work. It is expected to retail for $199. Also announced were updates to the Santa Cruz headset to add hand presence using two tracked controllers, making it one of the first untethered headsets to include this feature. Maxon has released a Cineware plugin for Illustrator, adding the ability to add, edit and adapt 3D objects directly within Adobe's vector based drawing application. Features include the ability to transform objects and edit materials, including applying vector artwork to the surface of models; preset cameras and tools to edit the view to any vantage point with lights that can be enabled, disabled and tinted. The release also comes with several preset models, focused on packaging, created in partnership with Turbosquid.
