Neill Blomkamp's Oats Studio has released the second part of Adam, a continuation of a short film originally created by Unity's Swedish demo team to illustrate the real time engine's rendering capabilities. Wysilab  has announced the first public beta release of Instant Terra, a new tool for generating terrain meshes and maps. The standalone node-based application promises to allow artists to create terrain with real time previews and limitless size and resolution. Following a successful crowd funding campaign, Greg Zaal has made available over thirty 16k HDRIs, released on HDRI Haven under a CC0 license. According to his Patreon page, the first two targets, which have been met,  allow him to release all existing HDRIs in 16k and release one more per week. As yet unmet targets unlock the release of previously commercial content and more frequent new HDRIs. Factory Fifteen has shared a behind the scenes look at Robot and Scarecrow, a film by Kibwe Tavares, director of Jonah and Robots of Brixton. The film was shot on location during Secret Garden Party, a UK music festival, and blends CG, music and live action.

Gamesindustry.biz has published a summary of "Estimating displacement rates of copyrighted content in the EU", a statistical analysis into the affects of piracy on digital entertainment products. Shockingly the report concludes that "in general, the results do not show robust statistical evidence of displacement of sales by online copyright infringements," but adds the caveat "that does not necessarily mean that piracy has no effect but only that the statistical analysis does not prove with sufficient reliability that there is an effect."
