Game changer! 😉
Lightwave always looked interesting but also seemed they never got quite there. For some reason it seems to me another Fusion, great potential but bad marketing or not really capable to nail it down.
Anyway, from what I’ve seen around it’s really capable of great stuff and great integrated render engine too.
Just my 2 c.
A great and solid release from Newtek. Really nice additions! Well done!
Congrats LWG! This looks like a stellar update! 🙂
Some nice new features :-
Genoma II – autorigger updated
bullet motors
faster rendering: users reporting 20% speed increase on their scenes
For me the very big problem of Lightwave is its GUI, it’s old and awful, it’s also visually slow, I mean with that that it has no graphic elements, practically everything is text so it’s slow to visually react or learn IMHO
Cheers
it’s nice to see that they make a yearly update because the 11.X was relay not a good marketing concept. i always was thinking there is no mature update i’m not a LW user.
Let’s see – it’s about 25 years since I first started using LightWave. That’s not a typo.
LightWave 3D 2015 is clearly, the best and more powerful release NewTek has ever put out. I can’t wait to dive in!
Do you still have your old Video Toaster stored somewhere? 😉
I sold mine not too long after they decoupled LW from it.
LW was one of the first 3d apps I ever used and it is still very fast to get simple results. The last few releases has kick it up a notch to help it get quick results with more complex scenes. I’m liking it.
i cannot find much info on genoma 2. so is it like automated rigging?
no fiddling about with weights?
