Adobe is offering current owners of Final Cut Pro and Avid Media Composer a promotional price for purchasing Creative Suite 5.5 Production Premium (or just Premiere Pro CS 5.5) at a 50% discount for a limited time. The program will end Sept. 30, 2011. Owners of Adobe applications are also eligible, and users of editing software other than the ones mentioned may also be included – contact your local reseller for the details.
Keep in mind though that if you own certain Adobe applications it may be preferable to skip the offer. Migrating to the Creative Suite Production Premium will raise the price of your future updates considerably, depending on which part of the world you live in. In all cases it’s advisable to find out what this update price may be, as well as which previous versions are eligible for updating. Adobe chooses to charge different prices depending on geographic location, which may vary significantly (something that other companies offering competing software don’t do).
