Adobe has announced that it is to acquire Frame.io, a leading cloud-based video collaboration platform. According to the announcement once the deal closes, the Frame.io team will join the Creative Cloud team with plans to “deeply integrate Frame.io into Premiere Pro [and] longer term, we have ambitious plans to bring advanced collaboration and groundbreaking technology, including expanded use of artificial intelligence, to video production and make every creator and creative team more collaborative and productive.” Read the announcement in full on the Adobe blog.
Makes sense… they are both advocates of the LCD (lowest common denominator). I always get a laugh imagining Kubrick/Kurosawa/Coppola/Miyazaki (AKA any respected cinemagraphic creative force) doing edit reviews with Frame.io… “TC: 01:01:45:17 – maybe change the font to Papyrus… to give it a bit more emotion”
Papyrus you say?

Good for the founders of FRAME.IO, but sad to hear as a user. I used the tool occasionally to communicate details of our animation with our clients. The tool helped a lot.
Are there any alternatives out there?
