After going through open beta testing, the Windows version of Serif’s vector and raster graphic design software has now been officially released. Affinity Designer is being offered through permanent licensing and is currently available at a 20% discount with an introductory price of $39.99 / £29.99 / 39.99€. As an extra bonus a free kit is bundled containing lots of elements for UI and web design. More information on Affinity’s website.
Also of note, Affinity Photo for Windows is currently in open beta testing, with new builds being released regularly. Affinity users have already started asking Serif to develop Affinity Animator, a motion graphics software. Serif’s official reply so far has been the following:
Do you plan to have Web site design/Digital Asset Management/animation/video editing products too?
We’re not sure yet! We will definitely get the first three products out the way over the next 12 months first before we start looking at other possibilities, but we are very interested in adding a DAM [Digital Asset Management] solution to the Affinity suite in future.

I just love it! AI is now 1% of my vector needs 🙂
Watch the video, the features are really nice!
Now that my AE CC locks up every 3 minutes in Win10, this may be a solid alternative.
