What a pathetic sad state of affairs when ordinary artists athletes and people are punished for the deeds of a government ANY government including the united states and its EU partners not to mention those people in the Middle East. Congratulations.

autodesk and sports have no business in politics or world affairs. You are neither the judge nor jury there are ten sides to any story. Did Autodesk cancel united states and UK when they killed one million people in Iraq or turned libya into hell or syria full of ISIS thugs that would make the worst of all tyrants in history blush in comparison! the whole point of the ancient olympics was to flex the might and prowess of the individual city-states. it was an extension of war in a way and most definitely a political tool. this is a basic fact.

You can see it as a punishment but its more then that. It also a way to deliver the message that this is not tolerated. When Putin bans all other media then his own you have to find ways to let the people know there is more going on then just a small military operation in Ukraine’s Donbas region.
This is the reason I prefer always permanent licenses. No one can deplatform you.

this also has little to do with permanent licensing since all the EULA´s and contracts will be subject to sanctions and laws. even with permanent licenses majority of the time the licensing software needs to contact a server and gets its accreditation, right? obviously the software company can in cases such as this opt not to activate or revoke the license even. permanent license does not mean jack shit, as demonstrated by autodesk and the 3 year activation limit.

Wrong.
I do not know in which county you live (you are an anonymous), but in the EU we have laws for it, made in 2016 exactly because of Adobe and Autodesk Policy. If it is permanent (just as I have Max 6, 9 and 2016 and PS 6 running) they can not dispute the license. This is a nice side of living under the law-umbrella in the European Union.

We are in the same building with Weltenbauer, the largest GFX software supplier for German market. I will try to find this week someone from the management, I have already heard in the floor about such cases; this must be solved. I know for sure 2016 is definitely permanent, I must check with them the case of 2017 (there was a contact/EULA change between 2016 and 2017).

max2017 isnt a tool i rely on often but fumefx and phoenix fd still get me there faster than other packages and besides it honestly irks me to have some 10k+ eur go poof because of autodesks greed.

What a pathetic state of affairs modern Russia has become. Its sad that it has taken such extreme events for business and sport to finally wake up and signal a will to hold the government of Russia to account, because clearly ordinary Russian people are unable (and sadly in some cases unwilling) to do so.
Russia is invading a non-aggressive neighbouring state under the guise of helping to secure its own security. Such a cruel irony to this tale. Russia is shelling civilians, reducing towns and cities to piles of rubble. It is literally dissolving a European sovereign state and its people. This is not the behaviour of a civilised European state in the 21st century – its the terrifying result of an un-checked un-quenchable hunger for power and influence from a deranged dictator.
Now, imagine you run an international company based in a democratic country. Can you imagine doing business with such a place? And yes, the Chinese and Syrians apparently can.. so maybe that tells us all something about their view of the world and its people.

Petro Poroshenko in October 2014 made it clear that Ukrainian Russians will not have anything while Ukrainians would, that’s why there was an economic block where would get their retirement money, the one they worked for so many years stolen by Ukrainian government, the only one helping, and I don’t care if you agree or disagree, was Russia government, and they only gave like 10% of what people really needed, so people were doing bad. There was some people who were not even Russians fighting for the independence of the Republics, in fact… Russia recognized them as independent so technically for Russia there are not even in Ukrainian soil when they are in those territories, which still today are being shelled by Ukrainian government.
If you don’t even know who Poroshenko is or someone like Yevgeni Ishenko or who Denis Pushilin and many other names and what happened around coal mines in Donbass and all the bombs and killings and everything that has been going on for 8 years, where either Ukrainian government did it or they didn’t stop… (let’s remember how they didn’t even try to respect Minsk’s protocols).
And adding the fact that NATO and USA have been putting many military bases around Russia… then what did anyone expect?

Why Autodesk and the other company just doesn’t take all the money acquire from the licence of the Russian artist and give them back to the Ukrainian humanitarian aid. The ordinary Russian artist is not the Russian military general and sadly is a contry were information is hyper controled and propaganda is everywhere.
