A recent job ad at Autodesk’s Careers site has surfaced saying the company is looking for a Senior Product Manager to join the team responsible for building 3DS Max and a family of 3D products and services. This has triggered speculations among those who spotted the job offer, so we asked for official comment on the issue. Autodesk M&E’s Director Frank DeLise states that “the 3ds max team is recruiting! We are looking for individuals passionate about the product and want to bring 3ds max to the next level”, and that they’re “looking for some additional PM help on 3ds max [because they] want to continue to add expertise to help grow and manage the product”.

Am I the only one that doesn’t give two hoots about “the cloud”, and just want a product that works and does what I want?

@Bob: I don’t think I’ve ever seen even one single post from someone asking for a 3D application to be ported to the cloud. Clearly, there’s no major demand from users for this to happen.
