Cascadeur 2024.1 introduces animation unbaking
The latest version of Cascadeur, is poised to significantly enhance its capabilities in animation editing. This update includes a variety of new tools designed to facilitate the editing and modification of baked animations.
The Unbaking Tool tool transforms any baked animation into an editable format. It automatically identifies keyframes and selects optimal interpolation for intervals. The process involves three steps: placing keyframes based on fulcrum points, choosing interpolation and additional keyframes, and adjusting the AutoPosing rig. Users have the option to automate these steps or control them manually for more detailed editing.
Another key feature of this update includes the Retargeting tool, which simplifies the process to a basic copy/paste function. This tool is effective for humanoid characters with varying proportions and skeletal structures. It employs the AutoPosing rig, which can be automatically created in Cascadeur using the Quick Rigging Tool.
Furthermore, Cascadeur’s AutoPhysics has been significantly upgraded, both visually and functionally. A notable advancement is the character’s ability to interact with the environment, including actions like parkour and interaction with moving objects. The settings for AutoPhysics are now simplified and controlled using just four sliders: Smooth Trajectory, Smooth Rotation, Compensation Motion, and Secondary Motion.
Cascadeur 2024.1 is set for release in mid March. For more details, visit Cascadeur’s official website.
