In a recent Facebook post Shakuro, the development team behind CGHUB, announced the official closure of the popular networking site for artists working in the entertainment, concept art, animation, games & illustrations industries. Apologizing to users, Shakuro explained the reason for closure “is personal and will remain private.” Find out more on Facebook, users wishing to reclaim artwork formerly hosted on CGHUB may be able to do so using Internet Archive Wayback Machine.
An additional explanation regarding closure of CGHUB has also been posted in http://www.crydev.net forum, in addition to explanations found on Team Shakuro’s and CGHUB’s Facebook pages.
Seems like http://www.crydev.net forum user “Plastix” has posted this information on behalf of (?) Shakuro.

BTW, seems like Crydev.net message is the same message as the one found on Shakuro’s Facebook page (and already mentioned above… Sorry!)
http://conceptartworld.com has also posted on their news area an article “CGHub officially shuts its doors”. In addition to above mentioned information and links, it also lists alternative sites similar to cghub:

Guys and girls, we are a team of CG enthusiasts who took it upon ourselves to transfer everything (as possible) from the archive to the new http://cghubs.com/forum/ – we will try to transfer posts, forums, topics, portfolios, images and more. Give us a hand!
