Lucas Milner recently posted a video of his experiments in Maxscript to create parametric coral assets for The Living Reef, an immersive underwater interactive experience of the Great Barrier Reef. Watch it on YouTube and read more about this coral creation process (using Houdini) on his blog.

Thanks, I haven’t learned much MCG yet, on a forum there is a discussion about recursive operations using MCG. But I think now if I wanted to do this natively then TyFlow would be my first stop.
Unfortunately I had only JUST gotten a production ready workflow sorted when the TyFlow beta dropped last year.
So ultimately this was completed with the Houdini engine for 3ds Max, which had really nice functionality.
