Render Legion has announced the release of Corona Render for Cinema 4D is out of alpha with the release of their first beta. Following a series of alpha releases, this version seen a significant re-write to support interactive rendering, including the ability to use Cinema 4D’s standard and 3rd party shaders. Support has also been added for material stacking, a new shadowcatcher material, improvements to sampling, the addition of dispersion and subsurface scattering and more. After an choppy start, Render Legion also confirmed that development on the Sketchup version of Corona Render will not continue, instead the focus will be on the existing implementations including Cinema 4, as well as test integrations to bring Corona to other applications (probably in the AEC sector). Find out more on the Corona Renderer blog.
I was going to purchase Corona for 3dsmax. Sadly I was told last week that Render Legion is not selling permanent licenses anymore and are going rental only. I really like Corona. Its a shame I have to look elsewhere for a new renderer.
really ? Renting a renderer is a deal breaker an no go !
