The new integration, available in D5 Render 2.11 through D5 for Teams, connects D5’s real-time rendering with Cesium’s large-scale, real-world datasets. This collaboration allows architects, urban designers, and planners to position and visualize projects within their actual geographic surroundings, from detailed site views to full cityscapes.
Cesium’s 3D Tiles standard enables the seamless streaming of terrain, imagery, photogrammetry, and city models directly into D5 without preprocessing. Designers can align buildings to real topography and urban fabric, supporting workflows such as daylight studies, district planning, and community engagement.
The integration is accessed by linking a Cesium account through D5 for Teams, where administrators can standardize data sources and locations across their organizations. Both companies describe the collaboration as a move toward contextual, data-driven design communication.
