Dynamax Plugin beta
Poly Design has released a paid beta of Dynamax, a new plugin for 3DS Max that promises similar functionality to ZBrush’s Dynamesh. According to the developers, Dynamax “removes all need for focusing on topological constraints. It’s possible to change the overall shape of any DynaMax by pushing or pulling, adding various pieces of geometry to combine into one, or even removing geometry in a manner similar to what you can do with Boolean operations.”
Dynamax is currently in beta and the developers warn that it may not be 100% stable. It’s available from CGTrader for $8.40.
what version of 3ds max does it work with?
isn’t it just a “poly to vdb to poly” conversion? if MAX doesn’t already have this standard tools in 2018, their users should really ask themselves some questions..
whitout valid sculping tools?
There is sculpting tools in editable poly mode in 3dsmax
The keyword here is “valid”. The sculpting tools Max has are very limited, tedious to adjust, and slow on feedback on dense meshes. I use them when I have to, but it’s never something I look forward to.
notice how he said “valid” 🙂
Wrapit has offered this for years
Wrapit is pretty good, but has been quite a while since it was updated. It is also a little slow and buggy. Granted I haven’t tried this tool to compare yet.
I used Wrapit quite a bit for creating 3d printable forms, I am excited to see a new tool that can do something similar with current support.
