Fabric Engine's Splice

Fabric Engine announced that their high-performance programming language will soon be available for Max. Splice allows to code multi-threaded, cross-platform tools with a language that is similar to Python and other scripting languages, but is dynamically compiled, so you get the flexibility and ease of use of a high-level language and the performance of compiled code. Fabric Engine would like to hear how interested Max users would be in using Splice for coding tools.

Check out a sample video showing a Splice vs Python perfomance comparison and feel free to leave your comments at the end of this news item, Fabric Engine will be checking your posts.

Just to add to this – Splice handles a broad range of areas. At Siggraph we’ll be showing proceduralism, rigging, simulation and a few other surprises that I think you might like. The number one focus for us is performance – these are scripted operators running as fast as compiled, multithreaded C++. The key is that a TD can write them.

We’re giving a Siggraph usergroup on Splice, so check out our schedule if you want to catch it: http://fabricengine.com/2013/07/fabric-engine-siggraph-2013-schedule/

Looks very promising.

I will definitely be giving you a visit to understand how this is going to fit into the max architecture.
