The Living Forest, the first 3D feature film produced in Europe, will premiere in Spain on August 3, 2001. DYGRA films, a small production studio based in La Coruña (Spain), has worked hard to create a 3D animated film of excellent visual quality while concentrating also on making a captivating movie with a solid script. A trailer for the movie can be downloaded from the official website.
The film is based on a book by Spanish writer Wenceslao Fernández Flórez (that almost ended up as an animated feature many years ago, after getting the attention of Walt Disney) and is geared toward all ages. For those attending SIGGRAPH a Production Overview conference will be presented by Juan Nouche of DYGRA Films on August 16, Room 403, 2:15 – 4 pm. Meristation Magazine also has a very interesting interview (in Spanish) with Manolo Gómez, co-director of The Living Forest, that sheds some light into the film’s creative process.
