ITOOSOFT has released ForestPack 9.3, introducing animated ivy, tapered branches, and improvements to the scattering system.
ForestIvy now has procedural wind animation with controls for global strength and speed, as well as separate tuning for leaves and branches. A viewport toggle allows users to preview wind effects directly without rendering. Ivy branches can now taper toward their tips, and new branch rotation settings reduce repetitive growth on vertical surfaces. Baselines can also be extended interactively by painting, streamlining revisions during layout.
Forest Scatter receives updates including the ability to interpret distribution images as grayscale density maps, providing more nuanced control over placement. Painting has been simplified with new keyboard shortcuts, and scale randomization by area makes it possible to vary vegetation size across different regions of a scatter. Performance improvements include stability fixes for large distributions, more efficient collision checks, and better handling of interactive rendering and preset libraries.
