Pilgway has released a free version of 3DCoat designed for creating models for 3D printing. All of the usual sculpting tools are available with the main limitation being a reduction of the polycount on export to a maximum of 40K triangles. The mesh is also smoothed specifically for 3D-printing. The license allows for commercial use provided the 3D models are “intended to be 3D-Printed or for the creation of rendered images”. I would love to see the mesh of this tractor, and if it is really below 40k triangles …
The idea is nice, but imho the 40k triangle count is ways too low for a useful result even for printing.
