Blackmagic Design has announced the release of Fusion 9 Studio. New features include VR tools, new keying technology, planar tracking, camera tracking, multi user collaboration tools and more. Fusion Studio’s price has been cut from $995 to $299 and a free version with many of the features of the Studio edition remains available. Additionally, Fusion Studio now offers unlimited network rendering. According to Blackmagic, its licensing system means that there are no ongoing rental, cloud licensing, maintenance fees or additional render node costs. Artists own the software they pay for. Find out more about Fusion 9’s new features on BlackMagic’s website.

The new features sound really good and the price cut is amazing. This piece of software is now really affordable by every freelancer. I think BlackMagic also sends some greetings to Adobe and Foundry by doing so 😉
Thumbs up here.
Awesome 🙂
How to buy it online? Buy Now leads to hardware resellers that do not even have the product listed. Do I really have to send them email. There must be a straightforward way.
yeah! the price cut is awesome, I’ve been using fusion free for years now but 299$ sounds promising, I might upgrade to Studio version. Rock on BM!
BTW. I have spent last few hours sending emails to resellers about availability of Fusion Studio 9. Only 1 of them had Fusion 8 for sale with free upgrade to 9 but the price exceeded 299$ by over 60% so it’s not a fair deal. I think BM should focus on that and make their product available from day 1. Just sayin.
That’s interesting, have you tried contacting BM about it?
No, I will message them tommorow if non of the suppliers have it for the right price
I was contacted just now by another reseller – they do not have fusion 9 – yet again, they have Fusion 8 with the ability to update to 9 but they won’t sell it for the reduced price, they want full 999$. Ridiculous.
I guess they may have been caught out and want to try to pass that on to customers who don’t know any better.
Can’t see that lasting for long.
Hopefully the resellers will catch up soon – I’ve not had much luck finding it in the UK either – it’s mostly hardware resellers or old versions.
I’ve been sending emails to resellers all over EU and only one of them was willing to sell it for a price close to 299$, but still higher. I’m talking to the guys at cvp.com (UK based) and they might be able to pull something off. Message them, maybe if more people want it they will sell it 🙂
Looks like B&H has Fusion 8 marked down to 299

This is for US customers, if you try to buy it from EU there will be over 200$ of fees and taxes and that’s a no-go. VAT is only 23%, which is about 70$, I won’t pay extra 130 just because I’m buying from US.
Why can’t they just sell it ( the Mac version) on the Mac App Store like they did for the Resolve Studio version ?
Picturetools sell it for Euro 271,- plus VAT.

I was told, that it is Version 8 with free upgrade to 9, as there is no BOXED Version 9 out so far, which you can DOWNLOAD.
