Fujitsu has developed a new technology that will enable hard drive recording densities of up to 300 gigabits per square inch (Gb/in2). The new developments are expected to lead within two to four years to the introduction of 2.5″ hard disk drives with capacities up to six times the recording density available today. The technology also allows for more than three times the playback output levels of current HDs.
