Electric Image announced that its new Universe 3.0 software is shipping for Windows NT/2000. Universe 3.0 is an upgrade for the ElectricImage Animation System (EIAS), which has been available on the Mac for over ten years. Universe 3.0 is available now for $1,995.
New features include:
– A modeling environment featuring solids, NURBS surfaces and subdivision surfaces.
– Better character animation tools, and a new IK system.
– Camera projection mapping with real-time image previews.
– New raytracing engine offers network rendering based on TCP/IP protocols, reflection maps with occlusion, and channel-based controls for optimized rendering times.
