MainFrame North release live boolean plugin for Maya

Mainframe North, the developers of MASH, has released a new C++ plugin that extends Maya’s Boolean operations with live interaction and a non destructive workflow. Bool costs £20. Find out more on Mainframe’s website.

wooo, awesome stuff. Not a regular Maya user but thinking about switching to linux and Maya from 3ds max. This plugin looks cool and it ain’t overpriced. Good job

shame 3ds max doesn’t haven’t something similar to live booleans and subdivision as showcased by modo, zbrush and maya plugins. slowly getting left behind

I believe you can do everything in the video above with the new boolean system that comes with Max 2017+. It doesn’t have the subdvision/retopo tools that come with modo/zbrush, but hopefully that is something they will circle back around and add it shortly.

Non destructive workflow, like another modifier, life feedback, still missing better retopo, but trying with hires geo, is faster and easier to work (and more accurate!) than procutter or proboolean.

3dsMax has had live boolean since 90s.
