Mari has the most strong development base of all the competition (full python API, complete UDIM, huge texture sizes handling) and the new additions have professional quality (better node graph, exr 2.2). However simple things such as lack of easy multi channel painting (without shared layers or layer masks workflows) and lack of a proper library of common material presets to start with are productivity drawbacks. Also they need more focus on easier weathering of materials. In my opinion it is a professional application but unfortunately less productive and time consuming than competitive and cheaper applications in many cases.
