“Discreet … Maurice Patel, the company’s product marketing manager who described Discreet’s heretofore top secret future apps. Code-named strata and mezzo, the works-in-progress will be a new editing, compositing and 3D creation software package and networking system that insiders said is targeted at an April 2003 launch.”
“Something’s up with this chic Montreal company, and I haven’t the foggiest notion what it is. I’ve heard rumors about involvement with Sony in some capacity, but that’s all too murky to even venture a guess about. The company has invited me to an ultra-secret meeting, where I’m hoping they’ll spill the beans and let me tell you all about it. Look for more on this as soon as I hear it.”

“Adobe – Big secret meeting here, where I’ve already signed an agreement not to tell you anything. But I’ll be trying to find something in there about which I can blab. I can tell you this, now: They’ll be showing me Premiere 6.5, and my guess is that it will address all the innovation wrought by hot competitors Final Cut Pro 3, Vegas Video 3 and Xpress DV 3. Oh dear, now they’re going to shoot me.”
