New Ivy Generator plugin for 3DS Max out now

Guillermo Leal has announced that his Ivy Generator plugin for 3DS Max is out now. This will be good news for Max users who depended on the original Ivy Grow plugin by Guruware that was discontinued several years ago. 

Like the Guruware plugin, Guillermo’s new version is a port of Thomas Luft’s open-source Ivy Generator tool. The tool uses a mixture of C++ and Maxscript to balance speed,  simplicity and ease of use. According to the developer, the aim was to be able to share the scenes without the user needing to have the plugin installed. To that end, this plugin does not leave any trace of itself as it just generates geometry. 

Ivy Generator is currently available for 3ds Max 2018 – 2020. It is offered free of charge but users are encouraged to donate using the Paypal button on the right-hand side of Guillermo’s website where you can also find out more and download the plugin.
