On 6 March 2001 Kelseus will release Version 1 of CLOTH, a new plug-in for 3ds max. CLOTH produces highly realistic animation of clothes on animated figures and objects. Features include:
* Collisions take into account all of the cloth geometry that collides with another object – not just the vertices.
* Fully integrated with Max Dynamic Effects such as the Wind and Gravity Space Warps.
* Handles stretch resistant cloth for realistic behaviour, collisions with solid objects, with other cloth, air resistance and realistic physical properties including friction, damping and forces of stretch and bending.
* Fast, reliable computation of animations.
* Simple and easy to use interface.
A demo version will be available shortly.
“If your characters aren’t wearing Kelseus Cloth, they’re not properly dressed.”
Other key features of Kelseus CLOTH:
* Maintain libraries of cloth materials, which can be reused between scenes.
* Groups of vertices can be constrained to follow other MAX objects and geometry in the scene and can be constrained to move along curves to produce curtain rail type effects (using MAX Shape objects).
* You can let a garment settle onto a figure so that it is in a natural position at the start of an animation.
* Diagnostics to detect and correct initial intersections between a cloth and its collision objects, to simplify the task of initially positioning clothing on figures.
* Cloth can be enlarged or shrunk.
* Material parameters can be animated.
* Different material values can be applied to different parts of a cloth, to model cuffs, seams, etc.
* Once your happy with a section of an animation, you can protect those frames so that they are not affected by future material changes.
* Cloth works as a modifier and so can be applied to virtually any object and is fully integrated into the MAX environment.
CLOTH will be available from 6 March and can be bought from our website at www.kelseus.com.
