KStudio has announce the latest releaese of Project manager for 3ds Max, including several user-requested features focused on organization, accessibility, and workflow efficiency. Among the most significant additions is a new online licensing system designed to simplify activation and management across multiple installations. Users can now also import assets directly from compressed archive formats, including .zip, .rar, and .7z, without the need to extract them first.
Customization options have been expanded through color label management and the ability to assign custom folder color palettes. This update aims to improve library navigation and visual organization, especially for users managing extensive asset collections.
Category filtering has been improved, allowing for single or multi-category searches within a folder. The improved system helps users locate specific models, textures, or materials more efficiently when working with large-scale libraries.
A new batch import tool enables merging several models into a scene in one operation using the “Merge to Scene” button. The tool maintains the models’ original hierarchy and placement, ensuring consistent layout during import. Multiple import options are supported, including drag-and-drop, paint-on, and replace methods, offering flexibility for different workflows.
In addition to improved filtering and import tools, Project Manager 3.41 adds translucency support for PBR materials, aligning with current rendering standards. The overall interface and navigation speed have been optimized for smoother performance across projects of varying sizes.
3d-kstudio also previewed an upcoming feature: a locally running AI assistant designed to automate file organization and management tasks. This future tool will not rely on cloud connectivity, emphasizing data privacy and performance.
