Nicktoons, Frederator Studios and Animation Magazine have joined forces to create The Nicktoons Film Festival. Deadline for submissions is September 10, 2004 and they are accepting 3D animated shorts. Read on for more.
The Nicktoons Film Festival aims to showcase the diversity of independent cartoon filmmaking by animators from around the globe.
Animators can download entry forms starting today
and entries will be accepted through Sept. 10. Submissions should be
animated shorts no longer than 7 minutes that combine a unique look,
great character designs and a funny plot. A selection of shorts chosen
by a pre-selection jury will broadcast on Nicktoons as part of a
13-episode compilation series launching this fall. One winner will be
chosen by a grand jury and awarded a $10,000 (USD) prize.
The pre-selection jury will be an assembly of Frederator Studios and
Animation Magazine staff. The grand jury members will be announced on
the website throughout the Festival competition (John Kricfalusi,
creator of Ren & Stimpy, is already onboard as one of the three
Grand Jurors). Other festival prizes
will also be announced on the website throughout the competition.
