September 3, 2002. Beaverton, OR. — Meshbox 1.0b5 is now available for download. Meshbox is the easiest way for 3d artists and developers to collect, manage and convert 3D objects. The Meshbox paradigm is designed around how graphic artists work. Collect your 3D files with assigned keywords and descriptions within Meshbox XML-based Projects. For mass storage or referencing 3D files between multiple projects, Meshbox uses Meshbox Collections, which support searching by keyword, description and graphic previews in three different views. Meshbox Collections are based on the powerful Valentina database technology of Paradigma Software.
Meshbox has import/export support for 3DS, OBJ, LWO, COB, 3DMF and SHD (Expression Tools Shade) formats. It also supports exporting to w3d (AKA Macromedia Shockwave 3D) and Viewpoint Corporation’s VET web 3D formats. Meshbox requires Windows 98 or later and OpenGL.
