Refractive Software has announced Octane Render, a GPU based, un-biased, physically based renderer. According to Refractive Software, the rendering process is fully interactive: settings can be left at a moderate level while adjusting the parameters of the scene such as materials, lighting options, and camera in real time. Octane supports .obj format, collada’s .dae format, and RenderMan RIB format for animation environments. A trial version is expected to be made available next week. More at RefractiveSoftware.com.
