New features in Otoy’s physically-based, unbiased GPU renderer include:
- Render pass output for lighting layers
- Undo system
- Improved sampling – many scenes render 30% faster or more
- Scriptable node graph SDK for developers – LUA-based scripting allows Octane to have practical applications beyond graphics, such as incorporating physics engines like Pixelux’s Digital Molecular Matter or interactive engines like Epic’s Unreal Engine
