Plasticity 1.1 released with inline measurements and a new backup system
The developers of Plasticity announced the release of version 1.1, bringing several bug fixes, new features, and improvements to their users. Among the key updates are inline measurements for drawing curves and an efficient backup system.
In response to popular demand, Plasticity 1.1 now includes inline measurements when drawing curves, offering greater precision and control. Users can easily input dimensions when creating rectangles, polygons, circles, and lines, with the ability to modify angles and lengths.
For those who prefer to work without inline measurements, the feature can be disabled in the grid and unit settings. However, the developers encourage users to keep it on, as they have designed a subtle visual treatment to avoid distraction while maintaining functionality.
In addition to the inline measurement feature, Plasticity 1.1 introduces a new backup system to prevent data loss. By default, the software saves the most recent version of the file, as well as one-hour-old and one-day-old versions. Users can customize the number of backups or even disable the feature if they prefer to manage backups themselves.
The backup system stores files in a separate directory next to the original file, but users can change the backup path if they wish to store backups in a single location. While some users might choose to disable backups due to disk space concerns, the developers believe the default settings will prove valuable for most users.
These updates, along with other enhancements, make Plasticity 1.1 a significant improvement over the previous version, providing users with a better and more reliable 3D sketching experience. Find out more on the Plasticity website.
