Steve Blackmon of the BlurBeta team has let us all know that he unfortunately got hit by the flu last Sunday, preventing the planned RayFX update last Monday.
However, he is currently recovering and is now planning it for next Monday.
To quote Steve : “Release highlights include a newer, even faster ray casting engine; the shadow plugins have been updated with transparent object support; the ability to render the voxel structure has been added to help with tweaking the acceleration controls (this is cool); and possibly the initial release of RayFX Ink/Paint (the toon shader…its working great, just not sure if Scott’s ready to turn is loose on the world yet.)
NO global illumination tools in this release. These are part of the new Advanced Material which essentially replaces both Standard and Raytrace, so it’ll be a while before this stuff is ready for release (2 months or more.) There will be much more info on the Advanced Material on the RayFX website.”
