MaxMan – RenderMan / BMRT export renderer plugin for 3DS MAX – commercially available from Animal Logic. The BMRT version is available with a free license. The update fixes several bugs.

- Shader preview in Material Editor using cylinder crashed. Fixed. (Bug #1553)
- DelayedReadArchive can now be used instead of ReadArchive in the MM Model modifier. (Bug #1565)
- You can now set the displacement bound for custom RenderMan displacement shaders. (Bug #1561)
- When using a pixel aspect other than 1.0 with an image background, the background would not correctly fill the frame. Fixed,along with a few other minor bugs with background colors/maps. (Bug #1559)
- Area lights can now cast light from both sides of the geometry, based on its sidedness. (Bug #1562)
- When using a custom shader, and ticking the ‘convert’ button for a texture that has already been converted, this would result inno texture being applied. Fixed. (Bug #1564)
- Falloff wasn’t working when rendering through orthographic cameras. Fixed. (Bug #1571)
- Bugs with using shadow tempering maps on lights fixed. (Bug #1373)
- RIB creation modes added to MaxMan Advanced Options, including ‘Flat RIB’ for creating a single RIB for the scene. (Bug#1443)
- Orthographic renders using the HDTV preset didn’t match Max’s. Fixed. (Bug #1556)
- Checkbox added to Basic Options to create Alfred scripts at render time. Also, if ‘Generate RIB Only’ is off, it will attempt toexecute the script with Alfred. (Bug #1563)
- Checkbox added to control the filename padding (zero padding or fixed length sequence numbers). (Bug #1566)
- The explicit displacement bound was being modified during conversion. Now passed straight through. (Bug #1570)
