Pulldownit 5.5 released for 3DS Max.
Thinkinetic has announced the release of Pulldownit 5.5 for 3DS Max.
This update has made the Shatter It tool multithreaded and more optimised, leading to quicker shattering – up to 4 times faster compared to the previous version. It can now shatter high-polygon models into hundreds of fragments in a few seconds. In addition, users can swiftly create Chipping areas on the model and discard shatter centers directly in the viewport with a mouse click, speeding up the process.
The performance of crack generation is also improved in this version. It now computes twice as quickly, and Bounded Cracks have received an enhancement – users can now make them dynamic at the desired frame. This enhancement facilitates the creation of stress cracks that eventually tear the surface entirely at a specified moment.
The new Pulldownit 5.5 also makes working in complex destruction scenes more intuitive. The dynamic solver has been adjusted for improved fracture results with default parameters. In scenarios where two objects collide, users can determine which object will break first by reducing its hardness value.
The update also brings alterations to the user interface. Users can now create several fracture objects or several crackers at once and modify them as needed. Furthermore, the display of all crackers paths can now be toggled with a single click, among other additions.
Licensed users can access Pulldownit 5.5 from their account, and a demo version for 3ds Max 2024 is available on the Thinkinetic website.
