RailClone 7 released with spline operations and new libraries
ITOOSOFT has released RailClone 7, an update to its procedural modeling plugin for 3ds Max. The new version introduces several spline tools, new libraries, and many workflow improvements.
The update introduces RailClone Systems, a new set of assets in six new categories: Windows, Office Ceilings, Curtain Walls, MEP systems, Boardwalks, and Highway Bridges. These presets allow users to create a variety of customizable configurations without opening the graph editor.
RailClone 7 add new procedural modeling capabilities with 19 new spline nodes organized into seven operators, including Basic Ops, Boolean, Offset, Catenary, Connect, Shape, and Conform. These nodes provide functions such as spline combining, transformations, boolean operations, offset cloning, realistic cables, shape generation, and conforming to terrains.
To accompany the new nodes, a new Spline Preview Mode allows users to visualize path changes directly in the viewport. The release also includes a new portable file format for improved compatibility and easier asset sharing between different setups and 3ds Max versions.
Viewport performance has been optimized with an updated Point-Cloud mode, fixing point density across objects and reducing redraw requirements. The A2S generator now features a Y Corner input for better array creation, and alignment behavior has been adjusted to improve usability in roof modeling.
Rendering updates include better support for V-Ray proxies in V-Ray GPU and Vantage. Usability improvements to the Style Editor and Macro Library aim to streamline the creation process. The new RCSlice feature and Stop Build options offer more control over geometry generation.
Macros have been extended to support multiple outputs and protected macros can now be accessed without passwords unless edited. Identification of RailClone objects has been improved with a persistent icon and name display option in the viewport.
