RenderMan 21 non-commercial available

Pixar has announced the availability of Non-Commercial RenderMan 21, a version of its renderer that is exactly the same RenderMan software used in production in the industry, with the restrictions that it can only be used for non-commercial purposes and that it is node-locked and does not have a floating network license. Plugins are available for Cinema 4D, Blender, Houdini, Katana, Maya and Nuke. Read the FAQ page and find out more on Pixar’s website.
No 3ds Max? Probably know whats in the pipeline.
The C4D plug in is also taking forever to finish.
At least there’s a plug in to Houdini and it’s free and you can render with Houdini Indie. It would be the cheaper solution. You don’t need Max. 🙂
