Sitni Sati has introduces NodeWorks Ocean for FumeFX 7 in 3ds Max
Sitni Sati has updated FumeFX 7 with the addition of NodeWorks Ocean, a procedural wave generation system for 3ds Max. The tool provides dynamic ocean simulations with support for foam, spray, and bubbles, while enabling objects to interact naturally with water surfaces.
NodeWorks Ocean uses GPU-accelerated spectrum models to generate realistic waves without visible tiling. Artists can layer and blend multiple spectrum nodes with Perlin noise masks to create variations ranging from calm seas to storm conditions. The system supports object interaction through an Ocean Dynamics node, producing wakes, foam, and buoyant object motion in real time through CUDA GPU acceleration and PhysX rigid body simulation.
Foam, bubbles, and spray are generated procedurally from wave motion and respond to surface dynamics, with rendering support through Arnold. The simulation includes boat wakes, bubble-to-foam transitions, foam cellular patterns, and localized disturbances such as raindrop ripples. Floating particles can be attached to the ocean surface and used as dynamic sources for fire and smoke in FumeFX.
NodeWorks Ocean integrates with NodeWorks Fibers, allowing ropes, chains, and anchors to respond naturally to buoyant forces and wave interaction. Real-time simulation playback is supported through memory caching, reducing production time.
