The new features are useful but the biggest disadvantage of Substance Designer still remains: no full python API. You can not create complete extensions for this application for full customization and connection with pipelines for maximum productivity. I hope they don’t take too long to develop this feature. They seem to listen to their user base. If they want to call their application truly professional and productive this will be a demanding feature.
I could not get displacement to work with the Houdini plug-in, using Houdini Indie. So, if this is were streamlined/fixed, it would open doors of possibility.
