The Foundry releases Colorway

The Foundry has unveiled Colorway, a tool for streamlining the iterative design workflow. Much like Motiva’s Colimo, Colorway allows to modify scenes’ lights, colors and textures after rendering. The software is bundled with a presentation application that turns it into a review tool, which allows clients to make modifications within predetermined materials and lighting options. These changes can then be exported back to the original 3D scene. Colorway currently works with scenes rendered with Modo, but support for other 3D applications is on the way (starting with Cinema 4D). More on The Foundry’s site.

I asked about a possible kit for 3ds Max and go this response. So if you want to try for now, it’ll need to be with Modo. But I do think a Max version may pop given how much Max users there is.

“Hey, atm it’s MODO and C4D is coming (very soon!), we would love to get it working with other software too so we will be seeing where we can get with all of that. For now I would say enjoy version 1 with MODO & C4D and stick with us because it should hopefully get very exciting :)”

@MauricioPC You can just buy Motiva Colimo, it has more features, is production proved, and it has full integration with 3dsmax + vray workflow. And probably will be cheaper too…

Yep this is a knock off, its a shame the foundry have stooped so low.
Here’s an interesting read about Colimo and the foundry.

Thanks for the link Duncan … it’s nice as it shines a new light into the whole “good guys aura” that The Foundry/Luxology has over it.

This is insightful to say the least, and sad to say more, and not just because of what they did to these guys, but because it kind of reveals what they are really about, turns out they aren’t that different from autodesk(except being much tinier of course).

“In fact, it’s not “angry” but “perplexity”. And I wonder what the Lux/TF fans would say if this movement would be made by Autodesk, for example.”
