KinematicLab has released an update to TopoLogiK, its retopology tool for 3DS Max that promises a “more procedural, parametric and efficient approach”.
Features since last reported include improved high poly management removing issues with corrupted meshes, the ability to automatically select edge loops for all tools, and a new feature in the Straighten Brush that allows the user to make a perfect circle from selected elements.
Also in this release are several improvements to the Create Face tool to allow the user to move faces, edges, and vertices; select multiple elements; chamfer any selected or highlighted elements; improve undo behaviour with deleted faces; improve Snap behaviour and more.
TopoLogiK is compatible with 3DS Max 2010 to 2020 and costs €30.00 for a single perpetual node-locked license. Find out more on KinematicLab’s website (There’s also a new section where users can suggest improvements and new ideas).
Nice update! Got it with the black Friday deal, though I wish I had more projects that I could use it on. 🙁 It sits in my arsenal until I do. I love the concept of the UI.
Combined with Quad Remesher, you could do a proper retopo of a deformable object pretty dang quick. One to rough it out, the other to fix and finesse.
Badbullet: So TopoLogiK can be effectively used NOT “just” to create a new low poly topology from hipoly mesh, BUT it can be used also to “manage/correct/manipulate” already made low poly retopology…? (in this case from Quad Remesher?)
