Unity 6 released
Unity has officially launched Unity 6, its latest version of the Unity Engine, marking the transition from the previous Unity 2023 LTS. This new release focuses on improved performance, stability, and advanced features aimed at improving creativity within the Editor. Key changes include faster rendering, advanced lighting, enhanced AI tools, and optimized support for mobile web runtimes.
Other notable updates include the GPU Resident Drawer, which enables efficient rendering across platforms, reducing CPU load. GPU Occlusion Culling has been introduced to minimize unnecessary rendering, boosting frame efficiency. Unity 6 also introduces new tools for multiplayer game development, including the Multiplayer Center for streamlined integration of multiplayer features, and support for mobile web deployment, allowing Unity projects to run directly in mobile browsers.
