Quixel offers perpetual access to the entire existing megascans library with a single click
Quixel is now offering free perpetual access to its entire Megascans library through Fab, a new digital asset marketplace that launched as the successor to the Unreal Engine Marketplace, Quixel Megascans, and Sketchfab Store. This free access, redeemable with a single click, is available until the end of 2024 and grants users a perpetual license to over 17,000 assets, including detailed scene files and specialized tree packs. The Megascans collection, which can now be used in any engine or DCC tool, is accessible under Fab’s Standard License, enabling its use in both commercial and personal projects.
As well as being free, the Megascans library has also been improved. New quality tiers match asset resolution to hardware limitations, ranging from cinematic-grade 8K for high-end systems down to optimized 1K content for mobile and UEFN use. Additionally, standardized texture bakes and Ambient Occlusion maps are included across all 3D assets, while upgraded metallic materials improve realism. Standardized mesh shapes, kitbashing support, and streamlined vegetation adjustments, including scalable wind and color variation settings, add further flexibility for users building complex procedural environments.
