Epic Games has integrated Fab into the Epic Games Launcher, giving users direct access to Fab’s full content library, including Quixel Megascans. This marks the first step toward Fab eventually replacing Quixel Bridge, though Bridge remains available for use at present.
To coincide with the rollout, Epic Games released over 300 new Megascans assets, described as the largest single drop of Megascans content to date. These include 3D scanned assets ranging from medieval ruins to animal remains, all accessible through Fab.
Fab in Launcher includes several features familiar to Quixel Bridge users, such as the ability to browse Megascans-only content for custom licensees, send assets to digital content creation tools in one click, and batch download and export files. Some features from Bridge are not yet available, including support for certain tools such as Houdini and Marmoset Toolbag, offline access for licensees, and advanced export settings for maps and levels of detail. Logging in requires an Epic Games account rather than a Quixel login.
Epic Games confirmed that Quixel Bridge and Quixel.com remain operational for now. Existing users with active licenses can continue to access their purchased or licensed content. The company stated that Bridge will eventually be discontinued once Fab provides a full replacement, though no timeline has been announced. New Megascans assets are only being released on Fab, while some older assets are still being migrated and others are being excluded if they do not meet current quality standards.
