Unity Technologies has announced that Anima2D, a well regarded skeletal animation tool, will be free from January 2017. In the short term Anima2D will remain a separate package but Sergi Valls, one of the assets creators, has joined Unity’s 2D team with the aim of bringing the features seamlessly into Unity.
