Chaos Group has released V-Ray 3.6 for Revit, bringing its latest build to the BIM package. New features include improvements to the speed of scene exports, a new asset browser, a streamlined UI, the ability to use RPC objects as stand-ins for V-Ray proxy objects to enable the rendering of many high-poly objects, V-Ray grass and Fur tools, Hybrid rendering and more. Find out about the release on Chaos Group’s website and see a demo video on YouTube.
That’s nice but I don’t really get why V-Ray versions are not released at the same time for all the platforms. Other renderers does that I think.
I mean V-Ray 3.6 for 3dsMax was released 8 months ago!
Hopefully Chaosgroup will change this approach in the future.
Unfortunately we do not have the resources to release all different integrations at the same time. The projects are very different and it turned out that it makes the most sense to let each of them progress at its own pace. It also allows us to learn from the experience with the earlier products before propagating changes everywhere. Finally, each release requires a lot of effort from different teams in the company and it makes the most sense to spread this effort throughout the year rather than trying to do everything simultaneously. Once we did try to release a version of V-Ray for 3ds Max and Maya at the same time and it’s an experience that I specifically don’t want to live through again.
Hello Vladimir, thanks for your reply.
This all makes sense, I haven’t thought of all this.
