Vimeo launches streaming service and acquires Livestream

Vimeo has announced it has acquired Livestream, the professional video streaming service.  Also announced is Vimeo Live, a new 1080p live streaming service available immediately. In the short term Livestream continues as a separate brand and service, but it is expected the features will be fully integrated into the Vimeo Live platform once the acquisition completes.  You can read the announcement on Livestream’s blog and find out more about Vimeo Live, including price plans, from its website.
