Chaos Group has announced that V-Ray for Cinema 4D will be owned and developed by Chaos Group - the plugin was originally created LAUBlab. Current license owners will be transitioned to Chaos Group for licensing support and future updates. Read the announcement in full on Chaos Group's blog.

Chaos Group has announced the release of V-Ray Next for Maya. In addition to significant speed improvements, other features include an Adaptive Dome Light, improved IPR running directly in Maya's viewport of VFB, debug shading mode, new GPU rendering architecture, physical hair material, support for metalness workflows, a new toon shader, V-Ray layered texture, improved physical camera, improved Alembic support and much more.
