3d-io releases 2018 plugin updates, new features added

3d-io announced that its plugins Unwrella, UV-Packer, Flatiron, Spotmask and BonesPro have been updated for full compatibility with 3DS Max 2018, plus the company has incorporated numerous improvements and fixes. Here is the complete list of changes:

Unwrella for 3DS Max (www.unwrella.com) (Version: 3.12.00) (Maya following shortly):

  • Full 3DS Max 2018 support!
  • Improved triangle unwrapping
  • New unwrap progress screen

Flatiron (www.texturebaking.com) (Version: 2.23.00):

  • Full 3DS Max 2018 support!
  • Improved chart scaling for ‘Pack Existing’
  • Fix a crash on defective geometry (very rare)
  • Improved triangle unwrapping
  • New unwrap progress screen

UV-Packer (www.uv-packer.com) (Version: 2.05.00):

  • Full 3DS Max 2018 support!
  • New unwrap progress screen

BonesPro (www.bonespro.com) (Version: 4.74.00):

  • Full 3DS Max 2018 support!
  • Fixed an issue where bone limit was not applied correctly in some cases
  • Fixed incorrect application of deformers below BonesPro in the stack when using splines
  • ‘Skin Import’: Dual-Quaternion weights from Skin modifier are now imported to BonesPro

Spotmask (www.spotmask.com) (Version: 1.11.00):

  • Full 3DS Max 2018 and NVIDIA Mental Ray support! (reminder: Mental Ray now must be installed seperately for 3DS Max.)

The updates are free for all customers and without subscription, renting or annual fees. Just login to your customer area and download the new versions. Demo versions are also available. More on 3d-io’s website.
